ABC TV Shows, Specials & Movies. This is Fairy Tale Land. It's filled with magic, monsters and all of the characters we all know from stories growing up. It's real, and so are the people in it. But unlike the "happily ever after" you may have heard about, their stories continued, and The Evil Queen cast a Dark Curse over the land.. This is Storybrooke. It's a quiet, little, New England town filled with people who go about their everyday lives with no idea who they really are. There are loads of resources to inspire marketing creativity. However, even the most interesting topics can land like duds if they aren’t presented professionally. The Queen's Curse has trapped them here and placed her in near- complete control. They have no real memories and no real hope. Once Upon A Time is, at its core, a story about hope."For us, that’s what a fairy tale is. It’s that ability to think your life will get better. It’s why you buy a lottery ticket—because if you win you get to tell your boss that you’re quitting and you get to move to Paris or wherever and be who you always wanted to be. And that’s Cinderella, right? One day she’s sweeping up and the next she’s going to the ball. Adam and I just wanted to write about something hopeful that for one hour a week allows one to put everything aside and have that feeling that your dreams just may come true."- Edward Kitsis, Co- Creator/Executive Producer. About Season 1: Emma Swan’s life has been anything but a fairytale. A 2. 8- year- old bail bondsperson, she’s been taking care of herself since she was abandoned as a baby. But when Henry—the son she gave up 1. Henry is desperate for his mom’s help and thinks that Emma is actually the long, lost daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Yes, the actual Snow White and Prince Charming. Even stranger, Henry believes that Storybrooke, the sleepy New England town he calls home, is really part of a curse cast by the Evil Queen, freezing fairytale characters in the modern world with no memory of their former selves. Of course the seen- it- all Emma doesn’t believe a word, but when she gets to Storybrooke, she can’t help sensing that everything’s not quite what it seems. As Henry shows Emma around with the help of his fairytale book, the town, and its inhabitants like Henry’s therapist Archie Hopper and the enigmatic Mr. Gold, seem just strange enough to set off her already suspicious nature. She becomes even more concerned for Henry when she meets his adopted mother, Regina, who he suspects is none other than the Evil Queen herself! Storybrooke is a place where magic has been forgotten—but is still powerfully close—and happily ever after seems just out of reach. In order to understand where the fairytale world’s former inhabitants came from, and what ultimately led to the Evil Queen’s wrath, you’ll need a glimpse into their previous lives. But it might just turn everything you’ve ever believed about these characters upside- down. Meanwhile, the epic battle for the future of all worlds, modern and fairytale alike, is about to begin. For good to win, Emma will have to accept her destiny and fight like hell. For detailed recaps please visit Once Upon a Time's Season 1 Episode Guide. About Season 2: To ensure that no one in Fairy Tale Land—especially Snow White—had any more "happily ever afters," Evil Queen Regina cast a curse which trapped the fairy tale characters, frozen in time, and brought them into our modern world. Although still alive, they had no knowledge of their former selves and were sleepwalking through life—ageless—for 2. Emma Swan. Unbeknownst to Emma, she was the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, who had whisked her out of Fairy Tale Land and into our world as an infant to save her from The Curse. Abandoned as a baby, Emma's life was anything but magical; her last job was as a bail bondsperson, but she mostly drifted without much of a life plan. When her 1. 0- year- old son, Henry—whom she had given up for adoption years earlier—appeared on her doorstep with a book of fairy tales and a wild story about how Emma was the progeny of fairy tale characters trapped in a town called Storybrooke, she thought he was crazy. But curiosity got the better of her, and when she brought Henry back to the town—where Regina, ever the control freak, had made herself mayor and was also Henry's adoptive mother—Emma soon discovered that Storybrooke was more than it seemed. Over time she came to believe the stories were true, began to see cracks in the curse, and was finally able to break it. Reality and myth were merged as the fairy tale characters began awakening, once The Curse was lifted, and remembered who they were. But to their dismay they were not transported back to fairy tale land. And to make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin—aka Mr. Gold—in an effort to gain the upper hand in his power struggle with Regina, introduced magic into the town. In fairy tales magic has its place, but in our world it can have unfathomable consequences. Now the fairy tale characters must contend with magic in their quest to find a way home, as new fairy tale characters are revealed, old acquaintances are revisited, and some we had come to believe could be trusted will turn against their own kind. For detailed recaps please visit Once Upon a Time's Season 2 Episode Guide. About Season 3: Welcome to Storybrooke, Maine, a small town that probably won't show up on your GPS, but it's a magical place to visit. Reality and myth merged after Emma broke Regina's curse, which had deprived the fairytale characters of their memories and trapped them in our modern world. When they finally regained their identities, our heroes were dismayed to discover that they weren't transported back to Fairy Tale Land. To make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin—aka Mr. Gold—decided to escalate his power struggle with Regina by introducing magic into the town. But this is our world, and magic always has a tendency to yield unfathomable consequences. The first order of business this season was to save Henry, who had been kidnapped and transported through a portal to Neverland. But Neverland was a much darker place than one remembers, and our heroes had to face a foe more powerful than the Dark One himself—Peter Pan. After being tricked and led astray for days—and learning that he was also Rumplestiltskin's father—Pan was defeated and trapped inside Pandora's Box. Our heroes returned to Storybrooke, only to discover that Pan had switched bodies with Henry and was about to enact a curse that would have killed every living soul in town. But after discovering the switch and restoring Henry back into his body, Rumplestiltskin paid the ultimate price by sacrificing his life and killing Pan. In turn, Regina obliterated her original curse, which erased Storybrooke from existence and whisked its residents back to Fairy Tale Land, leaving Emma and Henry together back in our world with pleasant memories—but with no memories of Storybrooke or its residents, and with Storybrooke itself seemingly gone for good. And they all lived happily ever after.. Hardly! All is not well back in the Enchanted Forest when Hook comes calling on Emma in New York City in an attempt to jog her memory so that she can once again help her fairy tale family and friends out of a desperate situation. Everyone she holds dear is in danger as a new foe emerges—the Wicked Witch of the West. Hook now must enlist Emma in an epic struggle that spans worlds: with the highest stakes possible—the fate of her family. No one remembers how they were transported back or the past year they had spent back in Fairy Tale Land. But someone in town is responsible for this curse, and all clues point to the Wicked Witch of the West. The Wicked Witch, aka Zelena, forced Rumplestiltskin to help her carry out her evil plan. The struggle between them leads to the death of Neal. A trip to Oz reveals that Zelena is Regina’s half- sister. She plots to go back in time to kill Snow White’s mother, whose actions sent her down a wicked path. An epic battle takes place. In the end, Rumplestiltskin kills the Wicked Witch while setting forth the opening of a time portal. Emma and Hook are pulled inside. They return to Storybrooke with a prisoner from a far off place. Regina is crushed to see that it’s Marian, Robin Hood’s first love. Someone else came forth from the time portal. Her name is Elsa. She demonstrates her power to freeze anything as she makes her way toward downtown Storybrooke. For detailed recaps please visit Once Upon a Time's Season 3 Episode Guide. About Season 4: After defeating Zelena — the Wicked Witch of the West — Emma and Hook were pulled into her time portal, which brought them back to the Enchanted Forest of the past. When they accidentally thwarted the initial meeting of Snow White and Prince Charming, Emma and Hook had to find a way to fix the timeline and get them together, or risk altering their futures and possibly obliterating Emma and Henry's existence; not an easy task to undertake. When Emma was captured by The Evil Queen, she met a female prisoner scheduled to be executed. Upon finding a way to escape, Emma saved the prisoner's life by taking her along. But Hook believed the woman's fate was to die and feared that things could be altered by her continued existence. After successfully getting her parents back on track, Emma, Hook and the prisoner found themselves captured by Rumplestiltskin and imprisoned in a room that contained his most unpredictable magic. With no way to escape, Emma discovered that her own magic had returned, and she was able to whisk herself, Hook and the prisoner back to present day Storybrooke. Upon their joyous return, Emma learned that the prisoner was none other than Robin Hood's wife, Marian, who was presumed dead in the previous timeline. Regina and Robin Hood had begun to fall madly in love with one another, but with Marian's return, their relationship could be in danger. And, unbeknownst to anyone, Emma and Hook also brought back Elsa. You never give up on the people you love.. The Storybrooke residents do not know what Elsa has in store for them.

Alcoholics Anonymous is an international organization of individuals who have struggled with drinking at some point in their lives. AA is supported and organized by its members, and it operates independently of any outside funding. It is not affiliated with any religious or political group. The organization's goal is to promote sobriety by "carrying its message" to suffering alcoholics. All AA members remain anonymous. The anonymity removes the stigma of identification and recognition and allows participants a more comfortable experience in recovery. Alcoholics Anonymous is open to all persons regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. The only requirement to become a member is the desire to stop drinking. What Are the 1. 2 Steps of AA? Is Alcoholics Anonymous Religious? AA originally focused on religion as a means to sobriety. But the program has since adopted a more spiritual focus rather than a God- centric one. In the. "Big Book"—the central text of AA that outlines the program—the twelve steps are defined as a "set of principles, spiritual in nature, when practiced as a way of life, can expel the obsession to drink and enable the sufferer to become happily and usefully whole."The AA Twelve Steps. The 1. 2 steps of AA are as follows. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable. Many alcoholics have a hard time admitting that they can't control their alcohol use. Once they acknowledge that they are unable to stop on their own, the recovery process can begin. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. AA believes that people with an alcohol addiction need to look to something greater than themselves to recover. Those working the steps are free to choose whatever higher power works for them. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. For this step, the alcoholic consciously decides to turn themselves over to whatever or whomever they believe their higher power to be. With this release often comes recovery. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. This step requires self- examination that can be uncomfortable, but honesty is essential in this process. The key is to identify any areas of past regret, embarrassment, guilt or anger. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. This step involves admitting to past poor behavior. Often, alcoholics will share what they wrote down during the previous step with their sponsor. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. The alcoholic admits that they are ready to have their higher power remove the wrongs they listed in Step 4. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. Every person has character defects, whether they come in the form of impatience, anger, apathy, criticism or negativity. The recovering alcoholic is not strong enough to eliminate these defects on their own, so they ask their higher power to do so. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. Alcoholics write down all of the people they have wronged through their alcoholism. The wrongs could range from large to small - from stealing from them to buy more alcohol to talking negatively behind their backs. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Many alcoholics work with their sponsor to figure out the best way to complete this step. Making amends could include writing a letter to a person or sitting down face to face with them. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. This step involves a commitment to monitor yourself for any behaviors that may be detrimental to yourself or others and to admit when you are wrong. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. Step 1. 0 requires you to commit to some kind of spiritual practice. That practice could be anything from prayer, to meditation, to reading scripture. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. This step encourages members to help others in their recovery. Many members become sponsors once they have completed the 1. The AA 1. 2 Traditions. AA also has. twelve traditions that it follows. These traditions serve as guidelines for living and working together both within AA and outside the program. Do You Have to Be Religious to Join? AA welcomes non- religious people even though the program takes a spiritual approach to treatment. The spiritual aspect comes into play with the twelve steps and their reference to God or a "higher power."The 1. AA acknowledge that people may conceptualize a higher power in different ways and clarify this with the addition of "as we understood Him" with almost every reference to God. The "higher power" concept is about recognizing that some forces are beyond our control. AA accepts people of all faiths, even atheists and agnostics. However, nonreligious people may find themselves more comfortable in a secular 1. Step alcoholics support group or a. Step addiction recovery program. How Did AA Start? AA meetings can take place anywhere. But often they are held in public, accessible buildings with lots of parking, such as churches, schools, coffee shops and restaurants. Occasionally, members hold meetings in correctional and treatment facilities. However, public spaces are the more common setting for AA meetings. Types of Meetings. The basic meeting format and rules depend on the type of meeting. Speaker meetings. AA members share their experiences with alcohol abuse, how they found the program, and about their recovery through the program. This type of meeting focuses more on sharing and listening than interaction. Discussion meetings. But they also recognize that everyone does this at his or her own pace. The program focuses on abstinence. This means resisting the urge to drink and take other psychoactive or illicit substances. However, prescribed drugs such as antidepressants and other medications are permitted while in the AA program. Get Help for Alcohol Abuse. Alcoholics Anonymous meeting or alcohol treatment program. A spreadsheet is just another way of referring to a program that simulates a paper worksheet, like from an old time ledger. For those of you who are still using a manual approach to keeping your books, etc. You can enter a formula that will automatically total a list of numbers, meaning you’ll never have to get out that calculator again. While Microsoft Office and Excel have become the industry standard, not all spreadsheet programs are created equally. Whether you're looking for a certain function or just an Excel alternative, it's important to make an informed decision. You need to find something that is easy- to- use and above all, economical! We have rated the best spreadsheet software so you that you can determine which is the best for your needs and your budget. On this site you will find articles related to spreadsheets as well as reviews of spreadsheet software. Most spreadsheet programs are simply parts of a larger home office suite. This means that the programs cannot be purchased as a standalone product, but in most cases you may find this to be advantageous since you’ll get an entire package and this can certainly mean you’ll get more bang for your buck. Usability – Can you find things? Is it easy to delete or insert cells? Can you change the font sizes and colors without too much difficulty? Easy formulae construction - When you need to develop a formula, is it easy to figure out how to make the formula? Formula library - You don't want to write every formula you need. Look for a repository of formulae you can pick from. Conditional formatting – We all know that you want to highlight the important parts of the spreadsheet – the one that shows how much profit you’ve made or how much you owe (oh, we hope not). Printing – Be sure to pick a program that lets you print the part of the spreadsheet you’re interested in printing. If not, you’ll end up with an enormous printout that may not even be able to fit onto the paper you’re using in your printer. Publishing to the Web – Many of the spreadsheets you develop may be of interest to many people in your organization. This means that instead of e- mailing the spreadsheets around, you may want to consider putting them up on a website. Good spreadsheet programs make it easy to convert a spreadsheet to HTML so it can be put up on the Internet easily. Adding symbols and pictures – In your final product, the fact that you can make the information you’ve gathered look appealing may end up being very important to you. Select a product that gives you the ability to import attractive symbols, images, and to easily change the colors, type faces, and backgrounds of the fonts. What to Look for in Spreadsheet Software. There are several elements of Spreadsheet programs, and some are more important to particular users than others. Regardless, here are the most important aspects to consider when evaluating which spreadsheet software is right for you: Compatibility. Today, whether you choose to go with Microsoft Excel or not, you will still have clients and associates who are using Excel. That means that you will need to be able to open and save your work in formats that Microsoft can work with. This means that one of the most important capabilities your new spreadsheet program must have is the ability to be compatible with Microsoft Excel. Spreadsheet programs can be much more interactive and functional if they can be accessed by computer programs. When you’re picking the spreadsheet that will help you the most, you’ll want to make sure your pick will work with the programming language you’ll need to be using. Features. There are a ton of extra features you can get on your spreadsheet program. The important thing is to make sure that your choice has the bells and whistles you’ll want to use. Lots of people want to be able to put images and symbols in their spreadsheets. They also want to add comments to cells so the people viewing it can get an explanation if something isn’t clear from simply looking at the numbers and columns. Check the features out very carefully and choose one you’ll be able to grow into for the future. Formula. When you’re doing your calculations, you’ll want a lot of flexibility when you’re inputting which parts should be added, subtracted, multiplied, divided, averaged, etc. Although all of the programs have these functions, not all of them are so easy to work with. You’ll want a tool that enables you to repeat the formulas for each row or column that is newly- created. You’ll also want a spreadsheet that has a large number of built- in formulae you can choose from. After all, you don’t want to re- invent the wheel every time you try to prepare a complex spreadsheet. Formula, however, may not be the way to go. Why? Because every time you need a formula in a new spreadsheet, you pretty much have to rebuild it and that's why many people are using programming languages to build functions that can be reused over and over. Obviously this can save you a great deal of time if you tend to build complex formulae. Printing and Publishing. Once you have finished with all of the calculations for your spreadsheet, you will have others that want to look at the information. And not everyone wants to look at a page full of numbers. Each of the programs offers a variety of different ways to display the data in pie charts, bar charts, and line graphs. Take a long look at the variety of what is offered in each spreadsheet program because there are those who will evaluate your work on how attractive the graphics look. Some will want to view your findings on the Web so make sure your choice easily publishes the data in HTML format. Also, don’t forget that people will prefer to forward the spreadsheets around in PDF format so make sure your software can easily write the spreadsheet into a PDF document. Support. More than anything, you want to choose a program that has an interface you find easy to work with. You’ll only know this about the spreadsheet program if you download it to make sure you like the way the controls are laid out. Whenever you are looking for new software, make sure that when you have a problem or if you cannot figure out how to use a new function that the help section is of a good quality. Be sure to click on the help link and see if they have furnished you with an easy to use method of finding the information you need. Remember that no matter how great the program is, if you can’t get it installed, you can’t use it. We have rated each of the programs on the ease of installing the program. Consider your options and the unique combination of features and usability from each software. We've rated and ranked the best spreadsheet software to help you find the best option for your needs. A TWELVE- STEP program is a guiding set of principles that, when practiced, leads to recovery from addictive behavior. The steps were originally developed by the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous ("AA") to guide recovery from alcoholism. AA's purpose is to provide the recovering alcoholic (addict) with the tools to stay sober and help others achieve sobriety. Participants benefit from the shared camaraderie among group members. The AA method has been adopted as the foundation of other twelve- step programs such as Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, Crystal Meth Anonymous, and Marijuana Anonymous. Working the Twelve Steps involves: Admitting that one has a serious, uncontrollable problem. Recognizing that outside power could help. Conscious reliance upon that power. Inventorying and admitting character defects. Seeking deliverance from these defects. Making amends to those one has harmed. Helping others with the same problem.
